Mandarin Programs

•  This class is designed for children with or without Chinese background. The class is instructed in English. No previous Mandarin experience is required. Learning focuses on speaking, and reading, they also get to learn how the Chinese characters are constructed with strokes, writing practice is also given in class or through homework. Teacher engages students with interactive online animated courses and highly intuitive textbooks. Light homework is given after class.

Class time: 

• Session 1: Wednesday (5:15-6:30)
• Session 2: Thursday (5:00-6:15) (Absolute beginner class)

Textbook: 

《Young Chinese 阳阳中文》

• This Class is for children with previous Mandarin learning experience. The class is instructed in English. Besides learning words, and phrases, students are encouraged to speak simple sentences. Reading and writing practice is also the main focus of this class. Homework is mostly finished during class. Language level evaluation is required to join this class.

• B1 (Session 1) Wednesday (4:00 - 5:15) 
• B1 (Session 2) Sunday (9:00-10:15)
• B3  Monday &Thursday (5:30 - 6:45)
• B4 Sunday (10:30-12:15)

Textbook: 

《Young Chinese 阳阳中文》

• This class is for children who are from families with a Chinese background. Class is instructed in Chinese. Students are also required to use Mandarin to communicate with the teacher. This class uses a set textbook designed for oversea Chinese students by JiNan University in China, it covers a wide range of topics and provides an overview of Chinese culture including Chinese geography, history, and philosophy.
