To prepare our little SUNs to take their place as productive leaders in the global community. As experienced educators and parents, we strongly believe in the benefits of learning a foreign language, exploring artistic expression and embracing the joyful discipline of dance. These benefits are essential and profoundly impactful: better problem solving skills; better critical thinking skills; increased creativity and mental flexibility; enhanced memory; improved multi-tasking abilities.
To instill within our administrators, teachers, and students a robust system of core values, with integrity and personal responsibility as key components. We acknowledge the intrinsic value of whole child development; therefore, we encourage compassion within our students for all cultures. We regard our students and encourage them to regard each other as gifted and talented individuals. We foster these talents through careful mentorship and guidance based upon respect and dignity for all.
Ms. Yang wears many hats: a mom, a former electrical engineer, a senior web designer, and a Mandarin instructor... She started teaching Mandarin at home for her young daughter and several other children, providing a joyful and stimulating learning environment, in contrast to the standard "cookie cutter" Sunday afternoon experience of most Chinese language schools. Ms. Yang infuses her classroom with fun by incorporating Chinese arts and games. In addition to teaching Mandarin, Ms. Yang gently encourages her students to embrace the rich diversity of far-flung cultures, and to maintain an open-minded outlook. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from XiHua University in Chengdu China.
