Our program started in 2016 in response to request from neighborhood parents for exemplary level Mandarin education program. Although the number of native Chinese-speaking parents is steadily growing in Austin, not everyone who speaks Mandarin can teach Mandarin. In addition to our native Chinese-speaking heritage, we are professional educators of language, art, dance and music. Most importantly we are parents, with a collective passion for providing high education.
Chinese is one of the most difficult languages to learn, with complicated writing system incorporating thousands of individual characters, requiring a keen ear for the four tonal sounds, and subtle consonant pronunciations, such a rewarding and worthwhile challenge. Learning to read, write and speak Mandarin provides Children with lifetime of intellectual stimulation, and opens the door to exploration of a truly fascinating culture.
Setting up a group class at Sunshine Chinese and Arts school depends on several factors which include enrollment numbers, matching language levels, coinciding program lengths, and the preferences of our parents. We carefully design the curriculum and choose teaching materials, tailor our teaching method to meet each student's needs.

Both our Mandarin and dance classes are conveniently offered at the Circle C Community Center, 7817 La Crosse Ave, Austin, TX 78739. We are proud to service Circle C and surrounding communities.
Each month we choose one Student to be Student of the Month base on the following criteria: outstanding behavior; positive attitude towards others and learning; demonstrates responsibility; respectful to peers and teachers; follows classroom rules and expectations; good homework completion record; good quiz result.
